Two of my good friends have taken on "Project 365" and have inspired me to do the same. Basically, the goal is to take one picture everyday for a year and to post the picture along with a brief description. It's been quite interesting and entertaining to follow these women's adventures and while I don't anticipate my posts to be as exciting as a new college grad or someone studying/traveling in Europe, I thought this would be a unique way to document the first year of the littles' lives. I can just about guarantee that this blog will not be updated daily and perhaps not even weekly, but I'll give it my best effort to post on a regular basis. My hope is that this will be a popular site for the grandparents, godparents, aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends of the littles and that this can be a fun way to watch them grow.

*November, 2011* We made it through the year, and I thought perhaps I'd try to redesign the blog for the future, intermittent updates. But, this twin mom is going to keep it simple and just keep going. Do not expect daily photos; we'll just post highlights from now on. Enjoy.

Mini Twinnies Play Group and a Tooth

January 31, 2011
We had 7 Mamas and 14 babies over for a play group (the 2 youngest babies aren't in the picture). It's so much fun to watch all of these littles grow and it's so helpful to have a glimpse into the future as most of the babies are a little older than Josie and Noah. And while we've been busy waiting for Noah's second tooth to come in, Josie had her first one break through.

Not So Smiley

January 30, 2011
This look of concern is due to the fact that I'm vacuuming. Hmm, maybe I should do so more often so that he get's used to it.

Great Grandma's Back

January 29, 2011
Auntie Abby, Great-Grandma Ernie and Great-Aunt Penny came over for a visit and had a great time playing with Josie and Noah. Great-Grandma couldn't believe how much the littles have grown since the last time she saw them.

Small but Mighty

January 28, 2011
You can see it in Noah's eyes...he knows he's in trouble when his sister starts moving around.

Selective Hearing

January 27, 2011
Today at the appointment with the hearing specialist it was confirmed that there is nothing wrong with Josie's hearing. She's just already developed a high level of selective hearing. That's my girl!

Let's Go

January 26, 2011
They were particularly excited for their walk.

In Good Hands

January 25, 2011
This is our friend Sydney. She and her Mama LJ come over on Tuesday afternoons to watch the littles and make sure they don't get into too much trouble while I head to work.

Party of 25

January 24, 2011
When I called Sally Tomatoes in Rohnert Park to tell them that 9 adults and 16 babies under the age of 1 would be arriving there in a few hours I think they thought I was joking. Then the man on the other end of the line realized I was serious, and was very accommodating. He said he'd set up a separate room for us and it was perfect as it had plenty of space for 8 double strollers. Later that day we took the littles to the park for their first ride in big kid swings.

Missed a big day (1/13/11)

January 13, 2011
Not sure how I missed posting this, but Josie's starting to sit completely on her own! (Although in this picture you can see that she was just about to go down.)

Noah's Army Crawl

January 23, 2011
Noah's been doing this army crawl for a couple of weeks now - each day he gets better and today I was able to video without him being (too) distracted by the camera.

Molo Night

January 22, 2011
"Gruncle" Mel, Fiona, Dave and Auntie Karina came over for dinner. It's so nice be the host and not have to do anything - appetizers, dinner and dessert were all covered by the guests and Ben did the dishes (as usual, god bless that man!). One day soon the littles will go through the family right of passage and have their first bowl of molo.

Trying to keep up

January 21, 2011
With her brother on the move (and stealing her toys), Josie is working hard at catching up. You can't quite see it here, but she's doing push ups.

Apples

January 19, 2011
I've been introducing new veggies every few days and finally decided to give them a new fruit...they like apples!

Why go around it?

January 18, 2011

Noah's moving quite a bit and I might even go so far as to say he's crawling. Sometimes he finds himself on the activity matt - this time when the arms got in the way, he decided to go through them.

Grandpa's here

January 17, 2011
Grandpa came to get some quality time in with the littles and we enjoyed having him visit for the long weekend. Can't wait to see him (and grandma) again in February.

Our Friend Rachel

January 16, 2011
More play-time friends. Rachel drove out from Stockton to hang out with us for the day, but we miss her already!

We Hella Love Sarah and Krista

January 15, 2011
Krista and Sarah came over for a visit today - they played with the littles and helped me make some pear baby food. Wish they still lived in the North Bay!

2-hour Nap

January 14, 2011
This is what a 2-hour nap looks like in our home. Mom got time to clean the kitchen and Josie woke up with a smile. I think this is the second time this has ever happened (the 2-hour nap, not the clean kitchen or Jo smiling) - let's hope it become a trend that replaces the 20 minute naps!

Whatever Josie has...

January 12, 2011
...Noah wants!
It's becoming standard practice for Noah to be most interested in whatever toy Josie has even if it's one that he has just discarded. He's much more mobile and he's stronger, so Josie doesn't have much of a chance. But, I learned that if I get the camera out, it distracts him and Jo can get her toy back.

Back to Work

January 11, 2011

No photo today because I was preoccupied with heading back to work part-time. Thanks LJ for coming over to watch the littles!

Mini Twinnies

January 10, 2011
Mini twinnies play group. Josie (in pink on the right) loved her little corner on the activity matt, while Noah  (in red on the left) loved kicking all the new toys hanging from the fence.

Stay Put

January 9, 2011
Noah didn't want to stay put in his car seat while dad got the stroller ready for a walk.

Almost Time to Say Goodbye

January 8, 2011
These swings got us through some very rough months and with Noah growing out of his, we wanted to get in one final hurrah.

Auntie Kweena

January 7, 2011
We all love it when Auntie Karina comes over to visit!

Avocados

January 6, 2011

They were not fans. What is wrong with them?!

What's 5 Pounds?

January 5, 2011
Noah has widened the gap and is now about 5 pounds heavier than Josie. Today at their 6 months well baby Dr. visit Josie weighed in at 13lbs 11oz and is in the 9th percentile, while Noah weighed in at 18lbs 9oz and is in the 68th percentile. The difference in their size is bigger than Josie was when we were released from the hospital. So blessed to have healthy babies!

1st Tooth

January 4, 2011
Noah's first tooth broke through.

Last Day of Vacation with Dad

January 3, 2011

...and no photo...

We Love Family

January 2, 2011

We had a wonderful visit with our cousins Michele, Scott and Matthew. (I just love Noah's expression in this picture.)

Happy New Year

January 1, 2011
We're 6 months old!!

New Years Eve Milestone

December 31, 2010
Sitting up on his own.

A Gift for Mom

December 30, 2010
We were gifted some fences to create a play yard. Now mom can breathe a small sigh of relief knowing they're contained.

More Visitors

December 29, 2010
We had a wonderful visit with Nabil and Simone and the littles were excited to receive some great new toys!

Home

December 28, 2010
While we had plenty of people to hold the littles and keep them entertained up in Crescent City, it was nice to get home. It was like Josie and Noah were reunited with old friends when I put them in these.

Headed Home

December 27, 2010

We arrived home at around 1am and spent the day unpacking, doing laundry and getting back into our routine - therefore...no photo.

The Cabin

December 26, 2010
Spent the day after Christmas up at the cabin in Gasquet. We're looking forward to many summers of canoeing swimming in the Smith River with the littles. I guess I'm going to have to get used to the freezing cold water once and for all.

1st Christmas

December 25, 2010

We had a great morning opening presents and stockings with the littles, grandma, grandpa, auntie Abby and Wade. Santa was good to everyone this year - we're so blessed!

The Joy of Christmas

December 24, 2010

Josie was mesmerized by grandma's Christmas tree.

Seeing the Sights and Meeting the Peeps

December 23, 2010

Down at the harbor to pick up some fresh crab for dinner, and a visit from Dad's friends Clint and Cheyenne.

Get Moving

December 22, 2010

Josie decides that grandma and grandpa's house is a fine place to start to try to scoot.

Santa, Suitcases, Bananas, and a Roadtrip

December 21, 20101
1. The littles met Santa today.
2. Noah is ready for me to pack him up as I get ready for our road trip to Crescent City.
3. Josie likes bananas much better than rice cereal.
4. and 5. Dressed up in our cozy pjs from great aunt Kathie and ready to sleep for the entire 6 hour drive to CC.
